For those of you who are concerned, some links below are affiliate links. This just means we may earn a commission if you buy through our links but we have our hands on our hearts when we say that we wouldn’t list them if we didn’t either use them ourselves professionally, or stand by them 1000%.

Roots Presets is our own preset business for photographers. We’ve carefully and meticulously curated a palette of tones that will elevate your edits like never before. We’ve also partnered with some of the leading photographers in the industry to bring you their own tones, which have been refined and tweaked to meet the Roots standards. Whether you’re after the elegant, modern & luxury look that we have in our portfolio or something more edgier, or darker – we’ve got a set ready for you to use. Pic-Time is the absolute GOAT when it comes to client galleries and innovations. With their incredibly powerful workflow automations and print-lab integrations, Pic-Time is a powerhouse tool that every photographer needs to experience. We’ve been with them since their very first days and can only sing their praises as to what they do, what they aspire to do and how often they release updates and new features. Oh and did we mention that their branding, styles, galleries and designs are ridiculously beautiful? Because they are and these things make a difference. A wholehearted 10/10 recommendation.

How I Shot This is another one of our own projects and we cannot put into words just how passionate we are about it. It’s an educational project that aims to break down exactly how an image was created by exploring insights such as the directions given to the subjects, the composition, lighting, editing, focusing, and so much more. With over 500+ posts already online, this project has been a tremendous adventure so far and it’s constantly growing. Expand your photography skills like never before through How I Shot This and join this community of amazingly talented photographers.

Aftershoot is one of the most incredible tools currently out there on the market. Being destination wedding photographers, we spend a tremendous amount of time travelling between weddings and it’s incredibly challenging to hunker down and get edits done. With Aftershoot AI, this is no longer an issue. We have personally tested a ton of AI Editing tools on the market and we’ve always come back to Aftershoot. Plus, our Chérie Presets are also available as an AI Profile in their marketplace. We’re just one big happy family.

If you aren’t compressing your images for either client delivery or your website, then you are literally taking up a ton of useless space. JPEGmini is the absolute best image compression software that is slick to use (and fast!), integrates with Lightroom directly and it also compresses videos; all with zero image quality loss. It removes bloat like image metadata and it can easily convert a 5GB folder of images to 2GB. This is a must have – for photographers, for web designers, for anyone ever dealing with images and storing them.

Modern photographers are expected to know a thing or two about building their own websites and portfolios, and if there is one tool that is king of them all, it’s Elementor. With a free version that’s enough to get you started, Elementor boasts 4+ million users and a community of incredibly helpful people right at the start. We’re fortunate to be ambassadors for Elementor as we’ve built this website, roots presets, how I shot This and all our other smaller projects with Elementor. We even were a featured creator and got a neat little blog post too. If you’re into exploring Elementor, and need help – let us know via the contact form. We’re considering to create a community specifically for photographers & elementor.
